Analytics Report Based On Research «West Ukrainian Media Network For Countering Disinformation»

This year the «Lviv Media Forum» team created «West Ukrainian Media Network For Countering Disinformation» with intention to help local media effectively combat manipulations and disinformation.

During the research in regions of Zakarpatska, Lvivska, Ivano-Frankivska and Chernivetska oblasts the following was conducted:

• expert interviews;
• local and social media monitoring;
• sociological studies.

Based on findings and monitoring experts defined main challenges that aid disinformation spreading through online platforms and social media. Also recommendation list was provided to four newsrooms: Zaxid.Net (Lviv), Шпальта (Chernivtsi), КУРС (Ivano-Frankivsk), Varosh (Uzhhorod). This will help local media in resisting disinformation in regions.
